PRINCE2 training courses

PRINCE2, which stands for ‘Projects in Controlled Environments’, is a method used by companies to manage projects effectively. It teaches you the basic skills needed to be a successful project manager. It is an internationally accepted methodology that can be customized for every project you’re working on

Since its launch, PRINCE2 has been used by companies across the globe for managing projects. It is a systematic approach to project management built upon seven principles, seven thematic approaches, and seven processes.

You can choose between two PRINCE2 training courses – either the PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Practitioner training course. Both courses cover the same topics, however, the Foundation version is designed to give you an overview of the methodologies and how they work. On the other hand, the Practitioner course goes into greater detail and covers each step of the process in more depth. We will go through both courses in more detail below.

PRINCE2 Foundation course

PRINCE2 Foundation certification is the first of the two qualifications required for becoming a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner.

PRINCE2 Foundation course covers a theoretical understanding of how to design, implement, and manage projects from start to finish. It explains the key concepts related to the project and PRINCE2 methodology and aims to ensure that you are familiar with the PRINCE2 principles, themes, and processes so that you can confidently manage projects.

PRINCE2 Practitioner course

To become a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner, you must first pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner training course provides students with knowledge and skills to use the PRINCE2 methodology in a range of different projects and situations. Students learn how to adapt the PRINCE2 framework to their own specific needs and prepare for the PRINCE2 Practitioners exam.

Association for Project Management (APM) training courses

The Association for Project Management (APM) is the top professional body for project management in the UK.

The APM Body of Knowledge (APMBoK) is an internationally recognized standard for managing projects. It includes all aspects of managing projects, from understanding the needs of the organisation to developing and implementing effective processes. An APM certification gives you access to the APM Community.

There are various project management qualifications available for people who want to work in the UK. There are two main certifications for project managers: the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (APM PFQ) and the APM Project Management Qualifi¬cation (APM PMQ). You can take an examination either by studying alone using online resources or by taking a course.

Here are the two popular APM training courses.

APM Project Fundamental Qualification (APM PFQ) course

The APM PFQ course offers a fundamental awareness of project management terminology giving you the knowledge to make a positive contribution to any project.

You will gain a solid understanding of project management by completing this course. The APM PFQ is the first APM qualification that offers the foundation for moving on to the APM Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ).

This qualification is for people who want a general overview of the principles of the profession. There is no prerequisite knowledge or experience required for this qualification.

APM Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ) course

The APM PMQ certification is a knowledge-based qualification. Taking the APM PMQ course enables you to learn all aspects related to the practice of managing projects. You will be able to understand how the different elements relate to each other and how your projects fit into your business environment.

You typically need previous project management experience. It is an ideal next step for any candidate who has passed the APM Project Fundamental Qualifications (APM PFQ) exam.

Managing Successful Programme (MSP)® training courses

Managing Successful Programme (MSP)® is a method used by organisations to manage programmes. It consists of a set of guidelines and practices designed to help an organisation achieve its goals. AXELOS Ltd has published the best practice guide for managing projects. A programme is made of a specific group of projects identified by an organisation that together will deliver some specified objectives for the organisation. The objectives of the programme are usually at strategic rather than operational or tactical levels, so they can help organisations improve their operations.

Besides being a popular project management methodology, MSP is also a certifying scheme. There are two main kinds of MSP certifications—MSP Foundation certification and MSP Practitioner certification.

Managing Successful Programs (MSP) training courses provide students with the skills required to be effective in a project management position. Before you take these certifications, you can take a learning course.

MSP Foundation course

MSP Foundation training enables you to align programmes with organizational objectives, mitigate risks, and enable enterprise agile practices.

Experts teach you the MSP concepts, thematic approaches, and processes so that you can deliver exceptional results from your training programmes. Taking the MSP Foundation training course is ideal to build up your basic programme management knowledge.

MSP Practitioner course

The MSP Practitioner training program builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired from the MSP Foundation programme. After completing the Foundation course, you’re expected to show an understanding of how to use the MSP framework in practice.

MSP Practitioner course is perfect for these managers who want to gain practical experience in applying MSP to their own organisations.
